Julian Knight

Julian is a prisoner serving a Life sentence, for committing the Hoddle Street shootings in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, in 1987.

In 1988, Julian was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum non-parole term of 27 years - www.lexis.com/research (Ref: 1988 VIC LEXIS 530)

In 2004, Julian was declared a vexatious litgant by the Supreme Court of Victoria for his repeated litigation against the Victorian prison authorities (the first prisoner in Australia to be so-declared).

In 2014, five weeks prior to the expiry to his 27-year minimum non-parole term, the Victorian State Government introduced retrospective legislation that removed Julian's entitlement to parole.

Prior to committing the Hoddle Street shootings, Julian was an officer cadet at the Royal Military College, Duntroon.
